The Concepts
The underlying goal is to create the best equipment. This is no small feat. To help guide our development process we have narrowed down the seven most influential aspects which we must feature in our gear. These include: Innovation, Perfect Fit, Style, Durability, Results, Feedback & Performance.

1. Innovation
Keep One Step Ahead

We have been and will continue to be the lead innovator. All-Star® designs technologies which make gear fit more securely (Delta Flex™), provide greater eye sight (I-Bar Vision™), and have even given the boys behind the plate a complete facelift with the invention of the so called 'Hockey Style Mask.' We have been building products using breakthrough materials including titanium alloys for facemasks and kevlar/fiberglass combinations for MVP helmets. Heavy research and design focuses on the players and how we can make even safer and more performance enhancing gear.
2. Perfect Fit
Comfort Customization

Proper fit. It's a really simple concept but very hard to do right. Above all, proper fit is paramount for protective equipment. Without this quality, risk of injury and discomfort greatly increase. With so many catchers of different shapes and sizes, it is a must that we develop gear which can be individually customized to ensure proper fit. Our goal is to allow our gear to work with the player, not against. With proper fit dialed in, a player can direct all focus to the game and not a chest protector which keeps dropping too low. We owe much of our customization features to our Delta Flex™ technology.
3. Style
Confidence Booster

All-Star® consistently provides more in-stock team colors than any other sporting goods manufacturer. A player's equipment colors should match those of his/her team without being forced to generic black, unless that is his/her team's colors. In order to provide a catcher with a personalized set of gear, we have introduced the Custom Design Lab from which players pick and choose custom color orientations and even embroidery. When you step onto the field you should feel like a pro. You cannot deny the power of confidence and the mental game. To play like a pro you have to feel like a pro.
4. Durability
Please, Don't baby it.

Use it and abuse it. Dive for balls. Run. Drop your mask. It's OK. Everyhing has been designed to stay in place and take the rigorous abuse from game play and repeated drills. Pads from the mask can be removed for cleaning, and chest protectors and leg guards can be soaked and scrubbed in warm soapy water. We were the first in the industry to treat our protective equipment with the antimicrobial Aegis Microbe Shield™, which kills unwanted bacteria (including MRSA) and keeps gear fresh.
5. Results
We find the failures, not you.

We test, test, and test our gear. We design it, break it, crunch some numbers, redesign it, and break it again. Eventually we push the equipment to an unrealistic point just to see it start showing signs of failure. We conform and meet all safety guidlines but also have a higher set of standards which we follow. If we don't feel confident about a product we will not release it. We shoot thousands of balls in our on-site testing facility and also check durability using some unconventional methods, such as repeatedly throwing helmets at brick walls.
6. Feedback
Your input matters

Every catcher, coach, and parent who has taken the time to contact us via e-mail, phone, and even face-to-face has had an impact on us. Thank You. We learn valuable information about what works, what doesn't, and how we can make potential improvements through them. We listen. Compared to other sporting goods manufacturers, we are not a corporate mothership. Instead, we're a family business. No matter who you inform, everyone in the company will soon know. We have always and continue to encourage all forms of constructive criticism. It is how we continually improve.
7. Performance
No gimmics. Just quality.

All-Star® creates the optimal set of performance equipment with the combination of innovation, comfort, style, durability, testing results, and feedback. We design all gear with the player in mind, and we do not endorse phony marketing gimmicks to grab your attention. We do not make shoes. We do not make golf clubs or hockey sticks. Our focus is on baseball and football protective equipment. With a focus so narrow we have no choice but to excel. This gear is of the highest, lasting, and protective quality.

It's the real deal.
