Model Numbers: MVP2500M:BK - ADULT
The System Seven™ MVP2500 series of masks are recommended for college though youth catchers. This mask features an I-BAR VISION™ steel cage, a high impact resistant ABS plastic shell with increased forehead thickness, a backplate designed to keep the snaps on, and a breathable 3D mesh padding liner.
The bars on the cage around the eye openings are flatter for increased range of view and to make the bars stronger. Instead of using a round steel bar, the I-BAR VISION™ cages utilize a flat bar, comparable to an I-Beam used in building construction.
MVP2500 WEIGHT: 45.2oz
Machine wash liner. Cold water / mild detergent / air dry
The MVP2500 & 2400 series masks come stock with an I-BAR VISION™ steel cage.
Instead of using round steel wire to make the mask, All-Star designed the I-Bar cages with a flat bar.
With the bars being flat, a catcher will have increased vision and have the benefits of a stronger cage.
You can think of the I-Bars being just like I beams used in construction, they are strong and extremely durable.
The padding can be machine washed with a mild detergent and should be left to air dry. Treated with the AEGIS Microbe Shield®, the padding is protected from any bacterial or mildew growth.
Replacement padding is available for purchase. Lots of athletes choose to have a second back up set for when one liner set is in the wash, or for game days with double headers. Changing the pads between games will feel like putting on a brand new mask.
SNAPS STAY SNAPPED:
Exclusive to the MVP4000, MVP2500, & MVP2400 series of masks, the snaps on the back of the helmet are designed to stay on.
If you look closely, each strap runs under a molded "bridge" which makes it impossible to pull a buckle off while snapped.
The best part is that even if a snap managed to pop off, the built in bridges will not allow the buckle to pass through.
IMPACT DISPERSION CAGE DESIGN:
The cage is fastened to the helmet in 6 locations, near the temples and jaw.
If you look closely, there is no hardware on the very front of the mask. This creates an air gap between the front of the cage and the shell of the helmet.
When a ball impacts the cage of the helmet, the force has to travel through the cage to the temple and jaw areas before the force goes to the rest of the helmet and then a player's head.
